ONWARD ISRAEL DELAWARE HILLEL

 

Hillel at University of Delaware offers Blue Hens the amazing opportunity to intern in Tel Aviv while enjoying the nightlife and experiencing Israeli culture firsthand.

Build your resume through a high-level internship based on your skills, interests and future plans. Intern four to five days a week alongside Israeli peers, immerse yourself in contemporary Israeli society, and make lifelong friends along the way. Experience Israel through Onward Israel’s exclusive day trips, overnights and seminars. In your free time, explore Tel Aviv’s incredible beaches, unparalleled foodie scene and exciting nightlife with a cohort of other UD students. When you return, look forward to reunions and reminiscing with your fellow participants.

Cost

 

$775

Includes housing, insurance, modest food stipend, ground transportation and program costs. All participants are responsible for cost of and arranging their own flights.

Participants will be required to submit a $350 participation and security deposit in cash or check upon arrival in Israel. Deposits will be refunded at the end of the program pending good standing.

The actual cost of the Onward Israel – Masa program is much higher, and is subsidized up to 70% by Onward Israel, Masa Israel Journey, private donors, and local Jewish communities and institutions.

Participants on Onward Israel – Masa programs may return to Israel on long-term Masa programs after Onward Israel.  They may also be eligible for additional scholarships from Masa to help fund their participation, although the size of that scholarship may be influenced by prior participation on Onward Israel. Acceptance Criteria

 

-Applicants must be a  Freshman, Sophomore or Junior at the University of Delaware.

-Applicants between 19-30 years old and not currently enrolled in high school

- Must meet MASA eligibility – identify as Jewish and have NOT spent 3 or more months in Israel as part of an educational or peer-program  after high school (this includes semester abroad, gap year or any other MASA)*

-Fluent in English

– Valid Passport (passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the program end date)
– Previous participation in Taglit-Birthright Israel or other short term programs in Israel is encouraged but not required

This Onward Israel – Masa program is operated through a partnership between the Beacon and Shapira Foundations and other lead philanthropists, Masa Israel Journey, Hillel International, and University of Delaware Hillel. It is organized by IGT.
